Badain Jaran Branding & Identity

Overview

Drifting dunes and scattered lakes. Crafting a brand identity for Badain Jaran, a desert in northwestern China known for its ephemeral nature, vast landscapes, and pockets of blue. Bordering inner Mongolia and located on the Alashan Plateau, it is imbued with a unique culture and atmosphere.

Through a variety of iterations and concepting, I created a wordmark, business card, and poster set that illustrates this site. I focused on this site's inherent shifting and expansive nature while also incorporating the duality between land and lake into a holistic visual system.
